Can you add my book: Provocateurs... to the list? I'm offering 20% on ebook version until July 15th. Check out my newsletter if they want to follow my work. To order and for more info: https://shorturl.at/yvPwE
Would love to get my book added as well - it just released. "The Last Parenting Book You'll Ever Read: How We Let Our Kids Go And Embrace What's Next", published by Sourcebooks on May 6! Great list you have here!
Wow! What an amazing list. Thank you for so many wonderful suggestions.
Curious how you researched this. Was it a keyword search? If so, I’m obviously missing some keywords in my Substack bio! I’m the author of seven enchanting non-fiction books, have written for Elephant Journal, OMTines, and Writers Digest. On Substack, I have a personal newsletter-Something True— as well as an exploration of fiction writing— How to Write a Novel.
I would love to be included if you do a future list.
Thank you! This project’s been a real labor of love. The list started with about 30 authors and has grown by leaps and bounds—I’m constantly amazed by how many nonfiction writers are showing up on Substack. Each week, I also publish a roundup of new nonfiction releases and cross-check for active newsletters. It’s good old-fashioned research, and I love doing it.
I’m always adding to the list, so I’ll definitely get you added—thanks so much for reaching out and sharing your work!
Thank you for creating this wonderful resource! I'd love to be included/ I published my latest nonfiction book with Verso in 2023: https://www.versobooks.com/products/2903-erasing-palestine and am now working on a book about marriage and its many meanings across time.
Here's my Substack: rgould.substack.com (the about page has more about myself and lists my other books).
Apologies for the delay, and thank you so much for your kind words and for sharing your work. I’ll get you added to the directory ASAP—glad to have you as part of this community.
Hi! I'd love to be included as "emerging", though I was hired to write a book about a Chicago neighborhood (LGNSQ) so I'm technically published. The bulk of my personal essays were written for the stage but I have bylines in The Cut, Saveur, and other publications and I attended the Tin House Summer Workshop as a non-fiction writer. You can find several of my personal essays in my newsletter: https://crankyguide.substack.com/
Thank you for sharing your background—I’ll be glad to include you in the “emerging” section and add Cranky Guide to the directory. Appreciate you reaching out!
I have two more for your list, because I just finished reading one of their non fiction books and subscribed to their Substacks and then found this directory. Kate Manne has written at least three books that I know of: Down Girl, Entitled, and Unshrinking. Her substack is called More to Hate. Timothy Snyder's books include On Tyranny, and On Freedom. His substack is called Thinking About...
Thank you for sharing my book, Accidental First Lady, here in this space! I appreciate you spreading the word about nonfiction authors and their works.
I'd love to be included! I've published two nonfiction books: Highlight Real (2019 Memoir) and Hey, Hun (2023 polemic about the multilevel marketing industry) and I have a substack, The Outsider Scoop.
What an amazing list and resource! I would love to be included. I've published two nonfiction books with Harper Collins. Share Your Stuff. I'll Go First. (2021) and The Life Council: 10 Friends Every Woman Needs (2023)
BIG fan here, and of course I will add you! I follow you on booksta and The Life Council has been my most gifted book. The stars haven’t aligned yet to go to one of your events, but it’s high on my list!
oh this makes me so happy and i’m so honored - thank you!! Also just shared your list to Notes so more people can find you and all these amazing writers.
This is awesome! I was just thinking the other day that I wanted to share all the books I’ve read because I met their authors here on Substack and all the newsletters I’ve discovered by non-fiction writers I love. I published my book, Like a Normal Person in October 2024, and I’d love to be included in the list!
