Apple Cider Vinegar looks like it would be a fun watch, but I am hesitant after watching Inventing Anna. I feel they are being glorified. They keep calling these criminals “anti-heroes” - no they’re just criminals. And then Anna Delvey was on Dancing with the Stars? What are we telling society by glorifying these people? And sorry I’m new to Substack and couldn’t figure out how to reply directly to that post.
I listened to MEMORIAL DAYS as an audiobook narrated by the author, and I loved it. It reminded me a bit of Didion's THE YEAR OF MAGICAL THINKING. This reminds me: I need to check for the audiobook of Alton Brown's memoir.
You hate to see plagiarism accusations...

You did it! And I completely agree with you. Thanks for reading and commenting!
I’m so glad you’re enjoying Memorial Days. I learned so much about Brooks and connected with her musings about grief.
Also, adding Apple Cider Vinegar to my watch list!
Yes, its made me very curious about her novels too!
I bought a copy of Horse after finishing her memoir.

I bet the audiobook was emotional - it was nice to hear how her voice sounds in the interview.
